“My name is Addyson Cord and I am writing on behalf of Yujean Kim. I am the assistant trainer at Kelianda Farm and I work alongside the Ethel Walker School Equestrian Team to train Yujean and her horse for showjumping competition.
I have worked with Yujean for the last three years and it has been such a pleasure to teach her and have her as a student. In that time, she has grown tremendously as a rider and a person and has become one of my favorite students. Competing as an equestrian athlete takes an immense amount of discipline, dedication and hard work and Yujean truly embodies all of those qualities. She is very bright, determined, hardworking, and thoughtful about her actions. Yujean is also a very good teammate to her fellow riders and her horses, and is a great role model for the other girls. I have watched Yujean overcome adversity and remain positive in many challenging situations that were out of her control. I was very impressed with her maturity, poise and compassion during these times and know it is a testament to her good character.
I am continuously impressed by Yujean’s dedication and commitment to her teammates, her horses and her own personal growth. She is a wonderful and talented young woman and I cannot wait to see where life takes her. Everyone in her future endeavors will be lucky to have her! Thank you for your consideration.”

“I am pleased to provide a testimonial for Yujean Kim, whom I’ve known since she started at the Ethel Walker School in 6th Grade. As her teacher and Upper School Advisor, I am continually impressed by her dedication, resilience, and outstanding character. Yujean exemplifies what it means to be a serious student and a dedicated equestrian–her commitment to her studies and passion for riding are commendable.
Throughout her time at Walker’s, Yujean has consistently demonstrated a strong work ethic and unwavering determination in everything she does. She approaches life’s inevitable challenges and setbacks with incredible resilience and a willingness to learn and improve. She brings the same dedication to the classroom, challenging herself with more rigorous classes each year. Yujean set goals in the classroom and the barn, and early this past fall, she earned the commendable status as a scholar-athlete!
Yujean is not only an exceptional student and rider but also a role model for her peers. She is mature, conscientious, and responsible in all aspects of her life. She comports herself well in all settings and completes her schoolwork ahead of time when she travels for competitions.
I am confident that Yujean will continue to achieve great things academically and in her equestrian pursuits. She is a beautiful example of hard work, dedication, and resilience, and I feel privileged to have her as part of our advisory group and the larger Walker’s community.”
