The beginning of my riding career started at a local summer camp and I would never have imagined that it would lead to something more than just a hobby. After that summer camp I started lessons at the same facility and learned all the basics of riding and also started doing some small shows and state finals in the pony divisions. I then started to look for a school that prioritized academics and also provided riding as a sport, and that’s when I started my journey at The Ethel Walker School. Since joining their equestrian team as a sixth grader, I have been able to grow as a horsewoman, student, and teammate. Under the guidance of Linda Langmeier from The Ethel Walker School and Kelinda Farm, I went from the 2’0” divisions to the big equitation classes and was given incredible opportunities to show at major show venues such as WEF, The National Horse Show, and Capital Challenge Horse Show. I have competed in the CHJA Medal Finals, USHJA Jumping Seat and Hunter Seat Medal Finals, the New England Equitation Championships, The Hamel NHS 3’3″ Equitation Championships, the Taylor Harris National Children’s Medal Finals, Region 1 Maclay Regionals, and The WEC Premier Cup Equitation Finals.
I am currently a sophomore at The Ethel Walker School in Simsbury, CT and I am a high honor student and a scholar athlete. Being a part of the riding team at school has taught me how to be successful both athletically and academically. Last year, I maintained a 3.7 GPA and am expecting similar results this year. I am taking multiple honors classes and am enrolled in advanced and honors classes for the 2024-2025 school year. When I am not at the barn or at school I enjoy spending time with my family and friends, traveling, and hiking.
The hard work and dedication I have put forth to make the dream of collegiate riding a reality will not waver, even after I have achieved my goal. Being able to continue my growth as a student athlete is something I am very passionate about. I am committed to finding the right university that would allow me to ride for an NCAA Division I Equestrian Team. My equestrian journey has taught me so many important life skills such as being resilient, patient, and having a strong work ethic and I am looking forward to utilizing these skills to contribute to my future team and university!
